Ed Pineau
Founder and Principal

Ed Pineau served three terms in the Maine House of Representatives from 1988 to 1994. In his last term, he chaired the Joint Standing Committee on Banking and Insurance. In 1995, he and Catherine Sonnier established Pineau Policy Associates, LLC. as a lobbying and governmental consulting firm. As president of Pineau Policy Associates, Ed has represented a variety of international, national and statewide clients before the Maine Legislature, the Administration and regulatory bodies. Ed was a consultant to the Maine Bureau of Insurance on health care, workers’ compensation, and disability issues from 1995-1997. He maintains an extensive network of contacts within the business, labor and public policy communities throughout Maine. He provides consulting services for political campaigns for state offices as well as ballot initiatives. Ed is a Maine native and an avid outdoor sportsman.

Catherine Sonnier Pineau

Cate Pineau has worked as a lobbyist and consultant focusing on state legislatures and regulators since 1987. She worked on a 50-state basis for the National Conference of State Legislatures from 1987 to 1994. She, along with Ed Pineau, established Pineau Policy Associates, LLC. in 1995. Since that time, she has represented a wide variety of clients including financial institutions, insurance companies, trade associations, and small businesses before the Maine Legislature, the Administration, and Maine state regulatory bodies. Cate served as the Executive Director of the Maine Outdoor Heritage Fund where she oversaw the grant process for the organization. Cate is a graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder and the University of Colorado School of Law.
